Is obsessing about certain things dementia or psychosis?
Looking at a picture and repeating over and over and again about the ring on his finger. Telling me she doesn't like butter or milk everyday as I am preparing food for her.
This sounds like dementia, but certainly a doctor should be consulted. Obsessions can come from OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder), Alzheimer's, medication interactions, an infection, or as you suggest, other mental illness. It seems to me that she needs a good physical as well as a workup to determine other causes. Carol
