Mom's left in bed from Thursday until Monday morning. The nursing home says they have no order to get her out of bed. Is that okay?

She is unable to transfer to her wheelchair due to a broken kneecap. She has PT Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (when she does not refuse it). PT was supposed to give an order to get her up with a Hoyer lift and into the wheelchair at least for 1 meal each day, but they did not leave the order. The nursing staff says they cannot get Mom out of bed without an "order". She is 90, in pain from the broken kneecap (given Tramadol and Ibuprophen for pain), and is getting weaker and weaker. Can they just leave her in bed for days at a time?

This is not good for her at all. Can you contact the physician or nurse practitioner on call to get that order? If not, at least get her sitting up in bed and turned frequently?
