Hi,

Definitely you will get best care taker to your father. Just search on Google and do inquiry for nanny to your father.

I looked at one of those websites and some of the "caregivers" looked like they were trying out for dating websites (nothing personal ruth1957). I did not want a caregiver who had her "stuff" hanging out. I went with a local agency, that knew the area and could handle driving. May be a good place to start

I'm a private Care Giver. pstiegman knows I'm trying to play housekeeper, too. ;-) I put my name on a website online that matches Care Givers with those who need them. We are required to submit our background check, and give references. This website does not like the posting of other website names, however if you do a Google search for "find a Care Giver", it should come up. Have a few candidates come in and interview them - also watch them interact with your father. Will they be driving him in for his dialysis treatments? Administering medication? You may require a CNA if he's in need of specialized care.

A good place to start is by asking his MD to approve the visiting nurses and call for an in home evaluation.

Here are some Indiana links that might offer useful info. Also google "hartford city Indiana home health care" for agencies near you.

I think to answer your question completely you must tell the community what exactly you mean by "home care." Do you need someone to come in daily? Are you lacking funds for home care help? Is there one specific problem that needs to be addressed? Medicare in many instances will pay for a period of home health care services if prescribed by your father's attending or primary care physician. Please try to be more specific and I am certain you will be helped.

Not quite sure what your question is. Can you privately hire a caregiver? Is Dad suitable for hospice? Do you want to place him in a facility? You can call public health and they may be able to assist
