Is it normal for Dementia patients to seem normal one day, remembering recent events?

Mom told me what day it was, what happened two days ago then accused me of being "disappointed" that she was having a good day.She even remembered the name of my dog. 90 minutes later she started repeating herself and questions over again, the events of yesterday became all twisted around.
I felt like I was waking from a bad dream and I've only imagined that she's been formally diagnosed with Dementia due to ALZ. She has me thinking I'M the one with the issue!! HELP!!

This is absolutely normal for someone with dementia. My mom has acted in the same way. Just try to stay positive (as difficult as that can be), take deep breaths for calmness and take care of YOURSELF. You are definitely not alone in the way you feel. It is so very hard living with someone who has memory problems. God bless you and take care.

My dad is 84 with mild to moderate dementia. Your post sounds familiar to me. Dad has an amazing memory about the old days but usually, hardly any short term memory. But occasionally, he'll be in the grove with the day's events who called, what they said etc. but it passes soon and we're back to repeating every answer all day long. I don't know if this is normal but I suspect many on this site have seen similar behavior.
