My brother (53) has frontal lobe dementia and getting kicked out of home. Any advice for such young adults finding a home?
Has behavior issues. Type 1 diabetes. 53 years old. He was given a 30 eviction notice. Saying can't control his diabetes. How can I find him a new home in 30 days?
Is he competent to make his own decisions? Does he have a guardian? If he is incompetent, the courts have jurisdiction in most states to take emergency custody and place the Ward in a safe place. I'd consult with an attorney in your jurisdiction. You might also check with your county social services dept. as they may be able to provide you some direction and provide you with an application for resources and services that he may be entitled to.
If he is already on Medicaid, I'd consult with his Medicaid case worker to get their input and information on other services.
Also, his doctor may be helpful if his doctor will sign an order that he needs assistance with diabetes treatment and he is not able to do it for himself, due to his dementia.
