How to discern the difference between PTSD symptoms and dementia?

My mom has dementia, I have PTSD. How do I tell if my present symptoms are just PTSD or early onset dementia?

more info would be needed. why would you think you have dementia, what symptoms are you now having that you hadn't had historically since the onset of your PTSD?
