Your friend is young. Are u on her HIPPA paperwork? Are u her medical POA? If ur, then talk to the doctor.
Maybe friend is terminal and putting in a feeding tube will not help. I have been told having a feeding tube is not all that great.
Maybe your friend is not telling u everything. I see she is at home. Someone has to be there to administer the food suppliment used with the feeding tube. Are u sure she isn't on Hospice? If so, a feeding tube wouldn't be used.
She may not be eating because if doing chemo food does not taste right. My FIL said it all tasted like metal.
What type of cancer and why is she not eating? If the cancer has spread through her abdomen, she likely is unable to digest food any longer. When my step Dad was dying, he no longer wanted to eat and feeding him would have caused more problems.
Is the feeding tube a temporary measure due to a cancer that has been removed or eradicated? Will your friend be able to get back to eating normally soon?
Or is the cancer incurable and palliative or hospice care recommended?
