A little more info might help. Does she live with you? How advanced is the Dementia? Can you or have you tried to get her on a routine? Sleeping a lot is common with dementia particularly as the person declines. If she is at home with you and is pretty mobile would an Adult Day Care Program work for you/her?
I don't know if there is a "normal" in dementia behavior and symptoms. There are a lots of different combinations of interesting things that seem to happen.
Does she live with you? Having her up for 2 days would not be at all OK in a home setting, at least not for me. Maybe she needs some routines set up to get her on a better schedule? Well, backing up, how advanced is her dementia? If it's very advanced, schedules might be nearly impossible.
In the 2 days she sleeps, can you wake her up? She must get up to use the bathroom and/or eat?
