Compensation should be provided by your mother and you can have an attorney draw up a caregiver agreement that outlines what you will do and how much you will be paid. If your mother is very low income and eligible for Medi-cal then she might qualify for IHSS in home support services. You would need to contact the Santa Clara department of social services. Your mother has to apply for assistance and if approved, she may be able to hire you as her caregiver. That’s really the only way to be compensated if your mother can not afford to pay you.
