Hi, me and a good friend of mine have decided to start an activity consisting in offering services for seniors, such transportation, shopping, counselling by experts, travelling, etc. and while searching on the Internet for some information I found your site. Unfortunately, in our country, Romania, this kind of activity is limited to home caregiving and seniors facilities, and there aren`t schools or courses to frequent, only the Social Assistance Faculty. Can you indicate me an online courses. My friend and I still have parents, they are over 75 years old and with the pandemic had to provide with many thing although our parents are still selfcare with medical issues. But some our neighbors aren`t so lucky... I know, there are a lot of aspects to consider, but we are both 50 years old and have life and work experience at least and we are optimistic. Thank you for any advice or information in order to start this activity! Hugs from Bucharest!

As stated by cw many of the activities you mentioned don’t require skill sets. If you want certification in caregiving, you’d need to get certification to be a CNA.
For *expert* counseling, are you thinking of becoming a social worker? If so- back to school you go. You’d need a bachelor’s degree and then a master’s to get your license to practice as a LCSW (licensed clinical social worker). They can provide therapy & counseling to clients once they’ve worked to learn those skills in grad school. I don’t know what the curriculum in Romanian universities require to obtain a degree in counseling. Do either of you have existing degrees you can build on to become a SW or psychologist to be able to legally provide counseling?
To transport elderly folks you would need a comprehensive insurance policy on your automobile with liability coverage.
This is how it would work in the US. I have no idea what is offered in Romania. I’ve no clue who the regulatory body is there to provide certification. I am unsure what you would need certification for.
Have you researched the laws governing elderly care in Romania?
I would start in your country first.
As stated YouTube is a wealth of info on “how to” videos.
