Can I get compensated for caregiving without it affecting any Medicaid eligibility?

Call the local Area Agency on Aging - federal agency, every community is covered by one of them. 1 800 677 1116 is the main number and they will tell you your local agency. They are great resource networks. Ask for names of elder law attorneys (it is a specialty) who their clients have had good experiences with. (They can't recommend someone in particular, but can give a few names, usually.)
they may also have a care consultant who can assess your mom for any and all programs in her area that could be helpful.

How would you be compensated? Unless this is setup legally with caregiver agreement and employer set up so taxes, etc are withheld then it could impact Medicaid eligibility. In other words, no cash under the table transactions.
