How can I see my mother when my sister will not commuicate with me. Any input?

My situation all too familiar. My sister, who my mom 94-year-old mother lives with, is refusing to let me see my mother. First, she said I had to have "chaperone" visits and could not take my mom out alone, and that she would have to be the "chaperone". Tonight, she texted me and our other sister and said she will no longer communicate with us. So how are we to see our mom? This sister also physically attacked me and injured my shoulder. I am 70 years old. I reported it to my doctor, and I thought legally the doctor was supposed to report it. She did not. This sister is also financially abusing my mother, as well as mentally by isolating her. What can we do to see my mother if my sister is not communicating with us?

Your job is to report it, not the doctor, so do so. You need to protect your mother.

Report the attack to the police and file a report. You have proof if you hopefully mentioned this incident to your doctor. Did you take a picture of your injury?

If your sister is not the PoA for your mom, and it's your Mom's house, you can legally visit her.

If your sister is for sure the DPoA or guardian, then you don't have any power unless you wish to take it to court. Perhaps your sister is old enough to be having ALZ or dementia? Or some other issue, like a UTI?

Call Adult Protective Services and report that your sister is isolating your mom.

Dors your mother want to see you or are you estranged from her? Do your visits upset or agitate her in any way?

Do you have proof of financial exploitation?
