I am both medical and legal POA. He has Parkinson's and falls frequently landing him in the hospital. I've asked that his chart be marked with an allergy to these anti psychotic drugs that turn him into a monster. This only happens in the hospital when they give him that class of drugs. He becomes belligerent and so they give him more until he becomes non responsive. It takes days to get them out of his system and return to his base line. I call every shift and missed one shift change, and here we go again.

D patients have getting their meds timely and the correct ones. It's not just a problem at that hospital.

I cared for my mom who had Parkinson’s disease. She went to the hospital after falling. They did not give her any drugs that she wasn’t currently taking.
When I took my mom to see her neurologist for her usual visits, he had access to all hospital records because I always requested that the hospital forward all records to my mom’s neurologist.
Your brother’s neurologist can list drugs that are not to be taken. When a medical history is done it will show up on his records that he has adverse reactions to the medication.
I always had a print out of my mom’s medication with me at all times. It also listed any meds that she had reactions to. I gave it to doctors and nurses as soon as they took her medical history.

I hate that hospital doctors do not communicate with the patients PCP or Specialist. I think we would see a lot less errors when it comes to hospital mistakes.
