She has alzheimer's and my dad died in oct 2014 & in his will he left everything to the caregiver & she says she has a POA but I know that's impossible. My mom lives in the state of florida & I live in Virginia. This lady is also falsifying documents & has control over my mother's money. I cant afford to hire an attorney to file for guardianship.

Go to local Court house and see if they have free family law advice. It helped me. I had to get guardianship of my kid.. What a pain , but it worked. They showed me the forms, how to fill it out , take upstairs to review it stand before a judge to question my reasoning, and the get the form back, to find out I need judge to sign it, so waited a few more hours to see the judge to sing the form so I can have it prpoery documented. A few days work, and a couple hundred dollars for filing.Free counsel and holding my hand priceless. It's done...

I doubt very much that your father and mother would give DPOA to a woman and would not at least introduce the two of you, especially since your an only child. For now please do not worry about filing for a guardianship. Take what you have along with what you know about this woman and go to the police and lay it all out for them. If they fail to see a case try to get an appointment with the County Prosecutor's Office. Best of luck to you. That this woman has any degree no matter how much of control over the money that is there for your Mother's care would be sufficient to send! me off the deep end. Good luck to you!

If you've got documentation as to forgery, contact your local law enforcement and find out how they can help FL police with forgery charges against the woman in question.

How do you know the woman who states she is acting under a DPOA is falsifying documents, and what proof do you have? You'll need to be able to provide that information to authorities who investigate. And what information do you have to know that it's impossible that the woman was named in a DPOA, presumably by both your parents?

Any authorities who investigate would ask similar questions to sort out what the situation is in order to take action.

Get the facts together and do as Mallory suggests: call APS in Florida.
