How do we get him there? Any ideas on how to phrase it? I have heard of therapeutic fibbing.

Call EMT and have him transported to the hospital ER if he will not cooperate. You may consider getting in home dip stick test and a specimen; tell him if he cannot cooperate in supplying the specimen you will call the EMTs and it will be out of his hands.

You can get the "hat" toilet seat, or a sample cup from your Dr and have him pee in that, then take the sample to the Dr for the check. It works very well for a lot of people. Or if he needs to GO to the Dr you can try the fibs.. but good luck getting him to pee in the sample cup there, you will probably have to go into the rest room with him. I know my Dad would never have gone along with that! But he was fine peeing here at home.

If you can collect a sample somehow, I have seen home tests in Target and Walgreens. Maybe could test at home?
Then talk to dr based on results
